|But nothing was here...|
This is a bit late for a new years resolution but the hell with it, I've been thinking on this sort of stuff for a while now and I've just got to get this out there into the world. Essentially I just want to organize my thoughts so I can proceed in an more efficient manner. 2017 was an interesting year for me, there was a fair amount of learning about myself and my aspirations, and there is still much for me to learn in the future. What I have come to realize for sure is that I don't want to work the standard 9-5, I want to be able to take my creative passions and work with that. So 2018 will be a year for laying the foundation for what I want to be my career, my life.
Now this doesn't necessarily mean starting my business now, although if I see an opportunity I will take it, what I want to do is start some habit building to help improve my work flow. This will start with a daily tracker to keep tabs on what all I am doing each day, this will start off broad paying less attention to the how long and more on just the what. Although I have already started tracking the time I spend on working on my art projects, and this will slowly expand from there. I am starting out simple because it is easier to build habits if you start off small.
I will spend the rest of this month, and perhaps all of March as well just tracking. Trying to be as genuine as possible with what I spend my time doing. From the results of that tracking I will try and plan out a broad schedule for the next few months, with some adjustments towards how I want my ideal schedule to look. I want to keep re-evaluating this, perhaps on a quarterly basis, as time goes on trying not to bite off more then I can chew. For now I have a simple Spreadsheet set up in google sheets to track the rest of February, and I'll set up another one for March closer to the end of this month making any adjustments that I see fit after evaluating how the original one worked out for me.
